V. A. Barsky and Maria Grigorievna Dybkovskaya (Kotlyarevskaya) were first cousins; their mothers were Maria and Varvara Fyodorovna Gudim-Levkovich. Lidiya Ivanovna Lipskaya, née Dybkovskaya, was the daughter of Maria Grigorievna.
The newborn Vladimir's sister, Lidiya Vasilievna, would later become the wife of Dmitry Nikolaevich Grigorovich-Barsky, Viktor Barsky's nephew.
It is notable that in 1878 Viktor Barsky and his brothers were already seeking confirmation of hereditary nobility, though they had not yet changed their surname to Grigorovich-Barsky.
